History of Tarot Cards

The first tarot cards were created in the early 1400s in Italy. This original deck developed into different versions and decks which you now see today. The original "game" of tarot was very popular during the Renaissance period.

Each deck is based on 4 different suits - Swords, Batons, Coins, and Cups. The decks consist of Major Arcana and Minor Arcana cards.

The Major Arcana cards are separate from the 4 different suits of cards, and they refer to important moments in your life whether it is a milestone, significant life event, etc.

The minor Arcana cards are the 4 special suits of cards:

- The suit of Swords (or Blades in my deck) represents the element of Air. These cars represent beliefs, knowledge, and thought process.

- The suit of pentacles (or Pentagrams in my deck) represents the element of Earth. These cards reflect aspects of the physical world such as money, possessions, work, and home life.

- The suit of Wands (or Bones in my deck) represents the element of Fire. These cards reflect aspects of ambition, inspiration, and passion.

- The suit of Cups (or Goblets in my deck) represents the element of Water. These cards represent relationships and emotions.
